Experience at St. Michael’s School

Hi, my name is Dolores Jimenez and I am currently the fourth grade teacher at St. Michael’s. My experience these past two years have been undoubtedly wonderful. Having been born and raised in Los Angeles, I am aware of the challenges young students face on a daily basis. However, it is very soothing to see how these students view St. Michael’s as a safe haven.

Curriculum

The 4th grade curriculum is based on California Content Standards. Students are expected to do their best across all subjects. Students are also expected to participate in classroom discussions in which they are allowed to express their opinion while also respecting the opinions of others. As a teacher, I will continue to create lessons that are aimed towards helping students with different learning styles. It is also my duty to make sure that all students learn the life skills they need to live positive and successful lives.

Extracurricular Activities

Working to set the foundation for well-rounded individuals is extremely important. Aside from being a classroom teacher, I am Student Council Advisor. As an advisor I help students set up activities that will benefit the school and the community.  We have participated in community services to help cancer research as well as the less fortunate.
